1. Don’t Go it Alone
Look to wise, loving people to help you along your journey. Find a mentor, support group, counselor, or coach. There is no magic formula that says you must get help. But there is a formula that says if you do not get help, you are not going to get as far. Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12. With the right kind of help you will likely get where you are trying to go. Don’t try to go it alone.
2. Receive Wisdom
Everyone has a lot to learn. Seek Wisdom from those who have done what you are trying to do. Read, study, attend workshops and seminars. Connect with people who do well what you want to do. We can’t easily do what we have never seen done. Is there someone you know who has done what you are trying to do? Ask them for help. Proverbs 4: 7-8 says: “Wisdom is supreme; therefore, get Wisdom.
3. Invite Feedback and Correction
Wise people ask for feedback and receive it well. If you knew it all, you would already have the answers. Just get comfortable with the fact that there are things about yourself that need correction. If you are open to the answers and feedback when they come you will be one step closer to reaching your goals.
4. Review Your Patterns
Is there a pattern in the ways you Fail? Look back at what has stopped you before. Knowing what has gotten in the way will go a long way to helping you avoid the same mistakes. Understanding these patterns and triggers may require inviting others to help you avoid these issues. Arming yourself against these patterns offers you protection when they show up again. Do not allow your past patterns of failing to continue to repeat themselves.
