Overcoming Trauma!
Devastating Losses, Disappointments, and Its Impact on Relationships
with

Surely the sleeplessness, distraction, more difficulty making decisions, fatigue, worry, shopping outside of my budget, stress eating isn’t related to trauma.  Navigating a pandemic, along with ever changing business and economic decisions (or parenting decisions related to schooling), it would be almost impossible not to have trauma-like brain patterns activated and ongoing during this unprecedented time.  What can make this time really difficult, is that most of us have experienced trauma during our lifetime though may not have named it or even recognized it.  Events like; death of a loved one, divorce, health challenges, job loss, income downturn, abuse, betrayal, all impact how we live day-to-day.  Therefore the combination of our past painful events where we developed automatic patterns to cope but not necessarily thrive, mixed with this pandemic stress,  which affects how we live equals a need to develop new levels of self-awareness and create better coping strategies.  The added stress of our life today is taking a toll on us all.  The pressures of today along with past unprocessed trauma changes how we view the world and relate to others, in short, it can rob us of a full satisfying life. Join us for the next Facing Challenges Well event and begin reclaiming your life.

You will learn:

  • What Trauma Brain is and how it’s affecting you
  • The roles of the Trauma Triangle in relationships & why knowing this is vital to you
  • To identify the past or present trauma in your life
  • Effective methods that bring mental calm and relational healing

Additional Opportunity:  Join a process group following the lecture to help you lean into what you learned and apply it to your life.

"Being able to take part in a Growth Skills event was made possible by the fact it was held online. The teaching sessions were fantastic; top notch.  I also opted to register for the process groups, having powerfully experienced these in person before.  While never having met the others in the group, I found the online format was still fairly effective with a safe environment fostered, empathy shown, and participation drawn out.  I received a boost of support during these sessions through the care and understanding given by the facilitators and followed by the other participants."
